Charisse Bowen

Chief Birthing Officer
Fort Collins, Colorado Area
I began my career working in the entertainment industry as a television and commercial producer where I gained a deep understanding of content creation and distribution. In 2006, my love for creating good content was combined with my love for doing good in the world with the launch of my company GenGreen. I eventually led the environmentally focused SAS Company to become the largest distributor of eco-content in North America and was responsible for creating the very first eco-app in the iTunes store, called ‘FindGreen’. In 2011, I sold the company and decided to take on the new challenge of academia. I was invited to build and lead the Institute for Entrepreneurship at Colorado State University. This new calling became the strategic shift in my life that set me on a new professional course of teaching business, coaching entrepreneurs and cultivating communities. As a self-proclaimed entrepreneurial activist, teaching and supporting startup entrepreneurs as they achieve their goals is my life mission. In my roles at CSU, and later Galvanize and then Blue Ocean Enterprises, I have worked with over 300 startups from around the world and in just about every industry. My unwavering desire to make the world a better place through business continues through the work I do as a coach and consultant.
